Your Horse’s Root Cause Reset

Find out what’s really driving your horse’s insulin resistance — and what to do first.

A natural, six-week approach to Equine Metabolic Syndrome. You’ll identify which driver is keeping your horse’s metabolism stuck, then build your horse’s recovery program in the right order, and have me beside you the whole way.

“Let’s start where it actually matters — one clear path, one step at a time.”

You’ve read everything you could find.

Late at night, with that knot in your stomach. Maybe you’ve already changed the feed, soaked the hay, tried a supplement or two. Maybe you’re right at the beginning and don’t know where to start. Either way, some part of you is still guessing.

Is this actually working?

What am I missing?

What if I’ve already waited too long?

Here’s what I want you to hear: whether you’ve tried everything or nothing yet, you’re not behind. You’ve only been seeing one piece of a bigger picture. Once you can see the rest of it, and work through it in the right order, things finally start to make sense.

That’s what the next six weeks are for.

What’s really driving it

Cutting the sugar matters. It’s rarely the whole story.

Underneath almost every case of insulin resistance I’ve worked with, three things are quietly driving it. None of them show up in the bloodwork or on a hay analysis, which is why so many devoted owners never hear about them.

If you joined me for the training, this is your quick refresher.

Driver One

Stress

The cortisol driver

Stress isn’t only behavioral. It disrupts hormone balance and slows digestion. When cortisol stays high, insulin tends to follow, even when their diet on paper looks perfect. A lost herd mate, chronic pain, isolation or confinement can all keep it running.

Driver Two

Toxicity

The hidden-exposure driver

This is the everyday load that quietly adds up: a dewormer here, a medication there, chemical sprays on hay, and supplements full of preservatives and ingredients your horse doesn’t need. Metabolism is the first process to feel it.

Driver Three

Nutrient Deficiencies

The quiet-depletion driver

Even a horse on a carefully chosen diet can be missing what their body needs most. When nutrition is a guess, this driver stays invisible, and a dull coat, weak hooves or low energy get written off as something else.

All three usually need attention, and in a specific order. Knowing their names was never the hard part. Figuring out which one is running the show for your horse is, and that’s where the Reset begins.

It’s not about doing more. It’s about doing the right things, in the right order.

From a hunch to a real answer

A hunch tells you where to look. The Reset tells you what to do about it.

Most owners I work with come to me in one of two places:

You have a hunch that something isn’t quite right with your horse.

You have a diagnosis — EMS, insulin resistance, maybe laminitis — but no idea why it’s happening, or what to do about it.

A diagnosis names the problem. It doesn’t tell you what’s causing it.

Most horses have more than one driver going, and each one makes the others worse. That’s why fixing one thing so rarely fixes everything.

7 live group coaching calls, so you can check it against your real horse and get an answer

Six weeks, together

You won’t be doing this alone. I’ll be right there with you.

We begin Monday, November 2 — which gives you the whole winter to regulate your horse’s insulin and improve their metabolism before spring grass arrives. You’ll work through the lessons at a gentle pace, and every week we meet for a live group coaching call so you can bring me your questions — about your horse, your hay, your barn.

7 live group coaching calls

Wednesdays at 7:00 pm MT, starting November 4. Every call is recorded, so you can catch the replay any time. I answer as many questions as I can, and I teach to the patterns I see most — so even when it isn’t your horse on the call, you’ll hear the answer you need.

Submit your questions

Send your questions in ahead of each week’s call, so nothing gets lost and you don’t have to think on the spot.

Mindset Moments

Where to even start.

This has been such an eye opener. I was worried about where to even start with my own horse, and learning with Elisha gave me the tools to break it down — I was so proud of myself when I finally got it right.

You want one clear path, and someone you trust walking it with you

Your questions

When does it start?

The program runs from Monday, November 2 to Saturday, December 12, 2026. Modules 1 and 2 open November 2, and our first of 7 live group coaching calls is Wednesday, November 4 at 7:00 pm MT. You’ll get the full call schedule once you join. Enrollment closes Tuesday, November 3 at 11:59 pm MT. That gives you the whole winter to regulate your horse’s insulin and improve their metabolism before spring grass arrives.

I did the Self-Check at the training. Isn’t that enough?

The Self-Check is a great first look. It shows you which driver is loudest in your horse right now, so you know where to start paying attention. But most horses have more than one driver going, and they feed each other. Inside the Reset, the Driver Diagnostic in Module 2 works through your horse’s history, environment and patterns to confirm what’s really driving things, and then we put it in the right order together, so you know what to do first.

What’s your refund policy?
If you change your mind, let me know within 3 days of enrolling and I’ll give you a full refund. The final day for refunds is Sunday, November 1 at midnight MT, so if you enroll on October 30 or later, your window is a little shorter. Once Modules 1 and 2 open on November 2, enrollment is final. Because this is a live program, everyone starts together, and I’d rather you hear that from me up front.
My horse has had laminitis. Is this for us?
Yes. Laminitis isn’t a separate topic in this course, but the work addresses the driver underneath it — and in Module 6 I’ll walk you through how to approach movement safely whether they’re in an acute episode or in recovery.
Do I need a hay analysis before I start?
No. Module 4 explains why it matters and walks you through what to look for.
What if I can’t make a live call?
That’s okay. Every live coaching call is recorded, and the replays are available to you — so you can watch on your own schedule and still send in your questions ahead of time.
How much time will this take each week?
Plan on about 2 hours a week for the lessons, plus any live calls that week. Everything stays open for you, so you can move at your own pace.
Will I need to buy a lot of new supplements?
No. A big part of this is often taking things away, not adding more. Where something is worth adding, I’ll explain why, and you decide.
What if I don’t know enough to do this?
You don’t need to know everything. You just need to start. The Reset builds from the ground up and doesn’t assume you know anything already. Each step builds on the one before, and you can bring me your questions on our live calls.
How is this different from Healing Horses Their Way?
Root Cause Reset gives you a clear starter path for the metabolic horse — the foundations, in the right order. If you later want a fully individualized protocol built around your horse, body, mind and spirit, that’s what my signature program, Healing Horses Their Way, is for.
I took Resolving Equine Metabolic Syndrome Naturally. Is this the same?
It’s been rebuilt from the ground up — narrower, clearer, and now with 7 live group coaching calls.
Elisha Edwards smiling

Trust yourself.

You don’t need to know everything. You just need to start — and you don’t have to start alone. If this feels like the right fit for you and your horse, I’d love to have you with us.

I’ll be right there with you,

Elisha
